She vanished, but I’ve never stopped wanting her. And now I’m back … for everything.

Two years ago, the woman I had a holiday fling with—and wanted to keep— disappeared from my life. There was no goodbye or explanation. Just gone.

So, I buried myself in football, training, and trophies. In anything that kept me from thinking about her. But it never worked.

It feels like kismet when I get traded to the New York Titans and the woman I’ve spent years looking for is none other than the owner’s daughter and one of my new bosses, Alie Grant. I should keep my distance. But every heated glance across the locker room hallway, every whispered conversation behind closed doors, and every time she looks at me like I’m hers … I lose control.

She tells me we shouldn’t do this. I tell her I don’t care. Because when she’s in my arms, nothing else exists.

What I don’t know is …
She’s been hiding more than her heart, and she’s been raising my daughter alone. Because the man she trusted most lied to her. He wanted her for himself.

When everything comes out, I’ll fight for the future that was stolen from us. For her and my daughter. A little girl with my eyes and smile. Because this time … I’m not letting her walk away. This time, I’m keeping them both.

If you’ve been waiting since Snow Blitz to see how Liam and Alie’s story plays out, let me just say this now: it is absolutely worth the wait.

Ava Sutton really knew what she was doing with this one. From the very first page I was completely pulled in, and I genuinely did not want to put it down. This story delivers all the emotional punches — heartbreak, betrayal, tension, heat, and the kind of swoony moments that make you fall head over heels for these characters.

But the real heart of this story for me? Liam and his daughter, Sera.

Watching Liam discover that he has a daughter, and immediately step into that role with so much love and determination, was easily my favorite part of the book. There’s something so beautiful about the way young kids love. There’s no judgment, no hesitation. They just want someone to play with them, read bedtime stories, and help with bubble baths. And once Liam learns Sera exists, he shows up exactly the way she deserves.

“Anger churns in my gut. I’m shocked and I feel like I’m grieving all that time I lost. But I also have this overwhelming feeling of love. The need to protect her. The need to know her. And her know me.”

He’s patient. He’s respectful of Alie. And he makes it crystal clear that he isn’t walking away from them again. Birthdays, holidays, school events, quiet everyday moments, Liam intends to be there for all of it. This man is completely gone for both of his girls, and honestly? That green-flag energy had my heart melting.

“I can be relentless when I want to be. And I’m not gonna let you walk away from me again.”

Liam and Alie’s connection never faded, even after two years apart. Their chemistry is undeniable, and once they’re back in each other’s orbit the tension between them is impossible to ignore. The push and pull, the unresolved feelings, the workplace tension, it all builds into something emotional, messy, and incredibly satisfying to watch unfold. My heart absolutely broke when we learn Liam had no idea about Sera, but seeing these two finally talk through everything and fight for the future that was stolen from them was so rewarding.

“You’re in my head. I can’t stop it. No matter what I do or how hard I try.”

And let’s talk about the betrayal for a second because WOW. I was genuinely stunned. The anger I felt reading those scenes? Completely justified. Some characters had me wanting to reach into the book and shake them. But that drama only made the payoff even better once the truth finally came out.

Beyond the romance, I also loved the found family feel throughout the story. We get introduced to new characters while still seeing familiar faces from the previous series, which made everything feel connected and cozy. The banter between the friends had me laughing, while the family moments had me tearing up.

Overall, this was a captivating, emotional read that perfectly balances romance, drama, and heartfelt family moments. Liam and Alie’s journey back to each other was messy, emotional, and incredibly satisfying, and watching them finally build the life that was once stolen from them made the ending feel that much sweeter. Ava Sutton has set this series up beautifully, and I’m already excited to see where the story goes next.
