Marrying my enemy in Vegas was never part of the plan. Falling in love with my husband . . . now that’s where things get complicated.

I’ve spent my life being called out as an ice queen.
I don’t do reckless.
I don’t do relationships.
And I definitely don’t do bad-boy hockey hotties who check every wrong box and skate for my family’s biggest rivals.

At least I didn’t until Logan Adler and his ridiculously sexy face sat down next to me. One night in Vegas. One incredibly stupid bet. And one very real ring later, I wake up married to the one man who could destroy everything I’ve worked for.

In theory, walking away should be easy, but I need to avoid a scandal, and Logan needs a wife to help him keep custody of his little girl.

So we make a deal.
Stay married.
Keep it secret.
And whatever we do—don’t cross any lines.

It should be simple.
Until the lies start stacking, the lines start blurring, and Logan starts looking at me like I’m not his enemy. Like this wasn’t a mistake. Like maybe I’m his salvation.

And maybe . . . just maybe . . . he could be mine.

I don’t even know where to start because I’m still thinking about this book.

I’ve been waiting for Olivia St. James’ story for what feels like forever. She’s been one of my favorite characters in the Love & Legacy series from the beginning, so my expectations were ridiculously high. Somehow, Bella Matthews still blew right past them.

Olivia and Logan genuinely can’t stand each other, or at least that’s what they’ve spent years convincing themselves. So naturally, one reckless night in Vegas ends with a marriage certificate that neither of them planned on. The funny thing is… it actually solves both of their problems. Logan needs a wife to help his custody case for his daughter, Maggie, and Olivia needs to look “settled” if she’s ever going to be made partner at the sports agency she’s worked so hard for. Fake marriage? Makes sense. Falling for each other? That definitely wasn’t part of the agreement.

“Call me Olive one more time and I will stab you with my shoe.”

These two had me smiling constantly. The banter was so good, and I swear Logan calling her “Olive” just because he knew it irritated her made me laugh every single time. They spent so much time trying to convince everyone, including themselves, that they hated each other, while the chemistry between them practically jumped off the page. I especially loved that Logan refused to give in until Olivia admitted she didn’t actually hate him. It made the slow burn feel even more rewarding.

“Tell me you don’t hate me Olive, and I swear to God, I’ll make sure you can’t think about anything other than how fucking hard you came on my cock for the rest of the fucking week.”

Olivia was everything I hoped she’d be. She’s smart, driven, intimidating when she needs to be, and constantly having to prove herself in a workplace that expects more from her than everyone else. She built those walls for a reason, so watching Logan slowly chip away at them without trying to change who she was felt really special.

“Have I ever told you your brain is sexy as hell?”

And then there’s Logan.

This man absolutely ruined me.

Watching him with Maggie was enough to make my heart melt into a puddle. Every time she curled up on his chest or reached for his hand, I was done. There is just something about a man who loves his little girl with everything he has, and Logan would move mountains to protect her. Then he turns around and starts protecting Olivia the exact same way? Yeah… I never stood a chance.

“Logan… I don’t hate you.”

The romance itself was exactly what I wanted. It takes its time, lets them build trust, and makes every step forward feel earned. And once they finally stop pretending they don’t want each other… Logan has a filthy mouth, and I am absolutely not complaining.

“You sleep in my bed, wear my ring when you fucking feel like it, and whether you want it or not, my last name is yours, Olivia… Yeah, I’m feeling possessive—because I am possessive. But. Only. Of. You.”

Then Bella Matthews decided she hadn’t put me through enough.

I was not prepared for that third-act twist. At all. One minute I’m grinning at their back-and-forth, and the next I’m sitting there with tears streaming down my face. It completely caught me off guard, and for a minute I genuinely had no idea how Bella was going to put my heart—or Logan and Olivia’s—back together again.

More than anything, I loved the way this book balanced all the swoony moments with genuine emotional growth. Logan spends so much of his life believing he isn’t enough, while Olivia carries the weight of having to be perfect all the time. Watching them become the people who reminded each other they were worthy of love was honestly my favorite part of the entire book.

“Because you’re mine, Logan. Somehow in this giant mess we’ve created, we made it work and… You. Are. Mine.”

Between the enemies-to-lovers tension, the marriage of convenience, the amazing banter, the found family, the sweetest little girl ever, and getting to spend more time with everyone in Kroydon Hills, this was everything I wanted from Olivia and Logan’s story.

Bella Matthews is still an auto-buy author for me, and Sweet Salvation might just be my favorite book in the series.
