Camden Snow is old enough to be my father, dangerously charming, annoyingly irresistible—and my future ex-boyfriend.
The moment I meet the former hockey player at his holiday party, the chemistry is off the charts. Despite the pesky feelings his presence stirs inside me, I have zero intention of actually dating the notorious bachelor.
I don’t date.
I’m only entertaining Camden’s advances because I have an article to write and a point to prove. For years I’ve witnessed my best friend date all the wrong men and repeatedly get her heart broken.
So I’m going to teach her and the rest of my readers what not to do when dating by doing all the stereotypical wrong things and getting dumped.
(ARC Review)
Wow. Just… wow. Snow completely blindsided me in the best possible way.
Before I started reading, I was expecting a spicy, fun, age-gap rom-com. What I didn’t expect was to finish it almost in one sitting, emotionally invested, slightly feral, fanning myself, and genuinely satisfied by the end.
What starts as a sultry, sexy, panty-melting romance takes a sharp turn around the 70% mark into something deeply emotional and surprisingly heavy, and I genuinely had to pause, breathe, and emotionally prepare myself before finishing. This was not the book I thought I was getting, and somehow, it was even better.
Let’s start with Camden Snow, because honestly? WHEW. Older man. Tattoos. Piercings. Huge hands. Gorgeous blue eyes. An eight-pack you want to lick. He’s confident, experienced, and knows exactly what he’s doing—in and out of the bedroom. Camden is the kind of man who makes “dangerously charming” feel like an understatement. He’s possessive, protective, and very much a golden retriever wrapped in a tattooed, dominant exterior.
“I’m going to devour you, baby girl.”
Savannah is just as compelling. She’s a voluptuous redhead with curves for days, unapologetically confident in her sexuality, sharp-witted, and proudly bratty. No thigh gap nonsense here—just a woman who owns who she is. Together? Absolute fire. The chemistry between Camden and Savannah is immediate and intense, layered with Daddy kink, playful power dynamics, and very spicy moments that are pure lust from the jump. This book is hot. Period.
“But first, I want to know more about you.”
I roll my teeth over my bottom lip. “I like to be on top.”
He squeezes my waist again, his hands higher than I’d like. “I’m being serious.”
“So am I. I have fantastic tits. They’ll look incredible when I’m riding you.”
But what truly sets this story apart is the emotional depth that blindsides you.
This story isn’t really about an article, or an age gap, or even romance at its core—it’s about unhealed trauma, miscommunication, and the way past wounds quietly shape present choices.
Savannah is dating Camden as part of an experiment for her relationship column—very How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days coded—intentionally doing everything that’s supposed to scare a man away. Except Camden Snow isn’t just any man. The more she pushes, the closer he pulls her in. Flirt with other men? He gets possessive. Talk about the future? He’s all in. He refuses to walk away, and somewhere along the line, neither of them realizes how deeply they’re falling.
Neither of them has ever truly been loved. Camden has never been in love, and Savannah has never felt chosen. Watching them slowly realize that they see each other, really see each other, was unexpectedly tender. He lets her play her games because she makes him feel understood, needed, and heard. She never intended to fall for him, and that makes what comes next absolutely devastating.
“I don’t think anyone’s ever loved me enough to stay.” My heart shatters, and before I can regain control of myself, I murmur, “I don’t think anyone’s ever loved me, period.”
And then—BOOM. A plot twist so wild, so what the actual hell, that I was genuinely unprepared. I won’t spoil it, but trust me when I say it completely flips the story on its head and forces both characters to confront fear, panic, and the possibility of losing everything they’ve built. The fear, the panic, the dread…it all lands so hard. Their love starts to feel like quicksand, and you’re drowning right along with them. The emotional tension is suffocating in the best way, and I flew through the final chapters desperate to know whether this love could survive.
“And you may be better off without me. I acknowledge that too. But I’ll never be better off without you. You brought me back to life.” His tone is laced with passion, with pain. “You gave me a purpose. Loving you will forever be the reason I was put on this Earth. So if you only know one thing, please know that you are loved. Always.”
The age gap (19 years—Savannah is 27, Camden is 46) might raise eyebrows, but it’s handled beautifully. Their connection makes age feel irrelevant. They meet at exactly the right moment in each other’s lives, and the way they fit together just works. Even as someone who doesn’t always gravitate toward age-gap romances, this one completely won me over.
The found-family dynamics on both sides add so much heart and humor to Snow, but Camden’s circle, his fellow retired Boston Bolts players and their significant others, was a standout for me. From the absolutely iconic tantric sex class to the hilarious, overactive group chats, this crew brings chaos, loyalty, and genuine warmth. They tease relentlessly, show up without hesitation, and make it clear that Savannah isn’t just dating Camden, she’s being folded into a family that protects its own. That sense of community adds depth to the story and reinforces how love, support, and belonging extend far beyond the romance itself.
Is it spicy? Absolutely.
Is it funny? Yes.
Is it heartfelt and emotional? Way more than expected.
Also, I didn’t think I had a daddy kink before this book, but here we are. “Baby girl” may now ruin me forever.
Bottom line: Snow is the perfect blend of rom-com charm, filthy spice, and emotional depth. It surprised me, broke my heart just enough, and put me back together with a smile. Easily my favorite Brittanée Nicole book to date, and one I will not stop recommending. Five stars. No notes. Absolute perfection.
