I kiss and tell, then profit from it. He’s the first man I want to keep off the page…
My ex destroyed my life and my ability to write a single decent sentence. So I do what any desperate romance author with a contract on the line would do…take a workcation. I rent a bubble gum pink cottage in a touristy town and promise myself no distractions.
Then I meet my temporary landlord.
He has a jawline that belongs on a warning label and the kind of confidence that tells me he breaks hearts for a living. Each morning he makes me coffee and has me laughing. Every night I write scenes I swear aren’t about him. Even though I know better.
I’ve built my career writing about my relationships.
Every man. Every crush. Every heartbreak. Every dirty little detail.
My readers are going to love him.
That’s exactly what I’m afraid of.
(ARC Review)
Booked on You is the kind of romance that makes you want to pack a bag, rent a charming cottage by the water, and hope a gorgeous man is waiting next door.
Scarlett arrives in Charleston desperate for a fresh start. Burned by heartbreak and struggling to write after her ex turned her life upside down, she escapes on a workcation to a bubblegum pink cottage determined to finish her book and avoid distractions. Unfortunately for her, Ezra, the handsome landlord next door, is the world’s most irresistible distraction.
“Scarlett is slow-burn trouble. The type of woman who rolls into town looking for quiet and sets the whole place on fire just by being in it.”
From the moment these two meet, the chemistry is undeniable. Their banter crackles with tension, but it isn’t really enemies-to-lovers energy as much as Ezra thoroughly enjoying getting under Scarlett’s skin while she desperately tries to resist him. The flirting, teasing, and constant push-and-pull had me completely hooked from the beginning.
And Ezra? Absolute book boyfriend material.
He’s confident, charming, talented, protective, nurturing, and completely gone for Scarlett almost immediately. What I loved most was that his devotion never felt overwhelming. Instead, he consistently supported her goals, encouraged her creativity, made sure she was fed and caffeinated, and gave her the space she needed to rediscover herself. The man literally bought and read her books because he wanted to understand her better. If that isn’t romance, I don’t know what is.
She may have come here to write a book, but it feels like she’s rewriting me instead.
While this is definitely an insta-love story, it worked for me because Scarlett and Ezra are adults who recognize what they’re feeling and aren’t interested in playing games. Their connection develops quickly, but it feels mature, intentional, and deeply emotional. They communicate openly, support one another through their grief, and slowly become the safe place each other has been missing.
What surprised me most was how much emotional depth sits beneath the swoony romance. Both Scarlett and Ezra are carrying painful losses and unresolved hurt, and I loved how their creative outlets became part of their healing journeys. Scarlett processes her emotions through writing while Ezra honors his late mother through his pottery, keeping her memory alive in every piece he creates. Their relationship becomes about so much more than attraction—it becomes about finding hope again.
“You make me want to take risks.”
“Take them with me.”
The setting deserves its own standing ovation. The flowers, beach adventures, cozy cottages, historical homes, bonfires, incredible food, and summer atmosphere made this book feel completely immersive. Every page felt warm, colorful, and alive. I genuinely wanted to move into Ezra’s personality-filled pink house and never leave.
And yes, the romance absolutely delivers. The tension is delicious, the chemistry is sizzling, and the intimate moments are incredibly well done. But what stayed with me most was the emotional connection. Watching Scarlett slowly open herself back up to love, possibility, and happiness while Ezra patiently stood beside her made the payoff feel so rewarding.
Ezra isn’t just changing my life. He’s bringing me back to life. And now, I’m determined not just to write a happily ever after, but to find mine.
Booked on You is soft, romantic, hopeful, and full of heart. It’s a story about grief, healing, second chances, and finding the person who makes life feel brighter again. Scarlett and Ezra felt like soulmates in the truest sense of the word—not because fate forced them together, but because they brought out the very best in each other.
“You’re the best part of my day.”
By the time I reached the final page, I was emotional, completely invested, and already wanting to reread it. If you’re looking for a swoony summer romance with beach-town vibes, emotional depth, incredible chemistry, and a hero who falls first and never looks back, Booked on You belongs at the top of your TBR.
